Today, ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions – a joint venture between ANZ and global payments leader Worldline (Euronext: WLN) – announced that it now offers Tap to Pay on iPhone to its customers in Australia, enabling seamless and secure contactless payment acceptance technology.

Tap to Pay on iPhone accepts in-person contactless payments, including contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets, using only an iPhone and the Worldline Tap on Mobile iOS app, no additional hardware or payment terminal needed.

Using Tap to Pay on iPhone is easy, secure and private. At checkout, businesses will simply prompt their customers to hold their iPhone or Apple Watch to pay with Apple Pay, their contactless Mastercard, Visa or Eftpos card, or other digital wallets near the business’ iPhone, and the payment will be securely completed using near-field communication (NFC) technology.

Apple’s Tap to Pay on iPhone technology uses the built-in features of the iPhone to keep businesses’ and customers’ data private and secure. When a payment is processed, Apple doesn’t store card numbers on the device or on Apple servers.

Petr Ryska, CEO, ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions, said he was pleased to now offer Tap to Pay on iPhone capability to businesses in Australia. 

“This capability gives businesses that are big, small or getting started, a flexible and secure way to accept payments with nothing more than an iPhone and the Worldline Tap on Mobile iOS app,” he said.  

“From a tradie taking payment as soon as the job’s done to retail staff closing a sale from anywhere in the store, there are many ways Tap to Pay on iPhone capability can support a business.

“Businesses can quickly and easily apply online in 15 minutes for Worldline Tap on Mobile via the ANZ Worldline website. Our customers with an ANZ business bank account will see their funds in their account at the end of each day,” said Mr Ryska. 

Tap to Pay on iPhone enables ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions’ customers to use a payment solution that’s easy to set up and use. Businesses can apply for Worldline Tap on Mobile via the ANZ Worldline website, and then download the Worldline Tap on Mobile iOS app from the Apple App Store on an iPhone XS or later running the latest version of iOS.
