John Collins appointed interim CEO, ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions

Steve Aliferis has stepped down from his role as CEO of ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions, with John Collins, the Deputy CEO and Chief Product Officer, assuming the role of interim CEO, effective 14 July 2025. 

Since joining ANZ Worldline in July 2024, Steve led a number of key initiatives, focused on stabilising and transforming our business and delivering reliability and innovation for our customers. ANZ Worldline thanks Steve for his dedication and contribution to the business and its customers and wishes him well as he pursues new opportunities, including non-executive Board roles. 

John Collins is well-placed to lead the business. He’s an experienced payments expert with a strong understanding of the broader operating and regulatory environment. His 25+ year career spans the Australian and New Zealand payments markets. He’s held senior leadership roles at organisations including Westpac, Paymark, EFTPOS New Zealand and ANZ, where he led ANZ’s payment and merchant services division from 2018 to 2022 before joining ANZ Worldline at its inception in 2022.
