The first report covers the July – September 2026 quarter and will be published on 30 October 2026. It won’t reflect any pricing adjustments ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions made to account for the changes to certain domestic interchange fee caps that came into effect on 1 October 2026.
Average Merchant Service Fee Reports
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has introduced new reporting requirements for large acquirers to improve transparency around card payment costs and help merchants make more informed decisions about their payment services.
The Average Merchant Service Fee Report will be published quarterly and will show the average merchant service fee we charged in the previous quarter for domestic-issued cards used in person, domestic-issued cards used online and foreign-issued cards. It shows the average fee across all our merchants (“all direct merchants”), as well as a breakdown of what was charged, on average, to small and medium sized merchants.
With all large acquirers like ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions reporting this way, its purpose is to give merchants a consistent starting point when shopping around.
This reporting provides a standard basis for comparing fees across providers. The services you receive, any hardware, gateway fees, pricing plan (e.g. single rate, differential rate or interchange plus pricing), card mix and volume all contribute to the final fee you pay.

In the report, an average merchant service fee is calculated for small merchants, medium merchants and “all direct merchants” (which is all customers).
ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions takes into account various considerations when it prices a merchant. Larger merchants often have higher transaction volumes, which allow them to secure more competitive rates and tailored pricing. Their payment costs can also differ due to the mix of cards they accept and their pricing arrangements with the card networks. These factors contribute to differences in the average cost of accepting card payments for larger merchants and are also reflected in the average merchant service fee for all direct merchants.
