Australian telecommunication providers shutting down 3G network

By the end of August 2024, most telecommunication providers will decommission their 3G networks. After this time, any devices including mobile phones and payment terminals relying on the 3G network for communications, will no longer function.

What does this mean

For some of our merchants, this may impact your ability to take and process payments. We have been reaching out to our customers to get them ready for this change and to ensure they can continue to transact following the imminent shutdown.

We urge all of our customers to take action as soon as possible so you can continue your business activities without disruption.

How do I know if I’m impacted?

If you have a 3G terminal and are an impacted customer, we have already tried to contact you so please keep an eye out for any email, SMS or letter communications from ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions.

If you’re still not sure, or would like to double check, please call us now on 1300 350 518.

What do I need to do?

Follow the instructions included in our communications to you or call us now on 1300 350 518 to discuss the options available to you.

We urge all impacted customers to act before 15 July 2024 as this will give us enough time to make all necessary changes to ensure you can continue to take payments after the 3G shutdown.

What happens if I don't take action?

If you do not take action, you will no longer be able to accept payments at the end of August 2024.
