    What are the fees associated with processing transactions with an EFTPOS terminal?

    When accepting payments with an EFTPOS terminal, there are Transaction Fees involved. These include Merchant Service Fees and Debit Card Fees.

    Are there any additional costs associated with processing transactions with an EFTPOS machine?

    In addition to Transaction Fees, there are a few other costs involved These include:

    • - Terminal Rental Fees: Amount specified in the Services Form, Contract Module or other document forming part of the Agreement as the terminal rental fee, which is payable in consideration for the provision of an Electronic Terminal or any other equipment by Worldline

    • - Chargeback Fees: Any fee charged by Worldline in relation to processing Chargebacks and specified in your Contract Module or other document forming part of this Agreement.

    How do I set up EFTPOS terminal for my business?

    To set up and start taking payments with an EFTPOS terminal for your business, request a call back or give us a call on 1300 366 988 Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 6:00pm AEST. It’ll be handy to have the following documents ready:

    • • Business contact information, including phone and email
    • • Australian Business Number (ABN), business structure and registered address
    • • Financial information, such as a business bank statement and photo ID
    • • Details of every director and beneficial owner if you’re a company. This includes birth date, residency and occupation information.

    Can I accept international payments with my EFTPOS machine?

    Yes. Our EFTPOS machines accept international cards, including Mastercard and Visa credit cards, UnionPay, AMEX, JCB and Diners.


    Please note that additional requirements apply for AMEX, JCB and Diners cards, including a merchant agreement directly with each scheme. For UnionPay, additional eligibility criteria applies.

    How long does it take for funds to be deposited into my business account after a payment is processed through an EFTPOS machine?

    Settlement times are subject to terms and conditions including the net settlement policy and our rights to defer settlement, see the General Conditions for further details. For ANZ business account holders, for Visa, Mastercard, eftpos and Union Pay transactions settled before 9pm (AEST), settlement proceeds will be available on the same day.


    For non-ANZ business account holders, for Visa, Mastercard, eftpos and Union Pay transactions processed through the electronic terminal, ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions will transfer the settlement proceeds to the merchant’s bank on the following business day and the availability of the funds will be determined by the merchant’s bank.
