Your responsibilites
If you are a merchant who offers DCC through ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions, you must follow the above. Please also note that if you use DCC, you will be liable for every dispute (and the refund to the cardholder if the dispute is upheld) raised by a cardholder where the transaction was made using DCC without the cardholder’s consent or where you didn’t comply with the requirements of your contract.*

No, the total amount in home currency the international cardholder sees is the total amount they will pay. This is inclusive of the exchange rate and exchange rate markup.

The DCC exchange rates will be updated once in 24 hours on all business days at 16:30 p.m. (CET/CEST*). During Saturday and Sunday there is no updated rate available, hence the rate from Friday afternoon 16:30 p.m. (CET/CEST) is valid until Monday afternoon 16:30 p.m. (CET/CEST)
* CET = Central European Time, CEST = Central European Summer Time. -
DCC exchange rates can be printed out from the standalone terminals once DCC is enabled. You can find them in the main menu under “Queries”.

No, the customer only has the choice between the displayed currencies on the terminal.

It may happen if the issuing bank of the card does not allow to process DCC Transactions. This way customer is forced to pay in the local currency (AUD).

The exchange rate markup (3.5%) is charged for the expense involved in currency conversion. It is included in the exchange rate. It is charged by ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions for DCC Transactions and by the card issuer in the case of payment without DCC.

Footnote:
For ANZ business account holders, funds are available on the same day for online transactions, processed through the terminal and settled before 9pm (AEST). For non-ANZ business account holders, for online transactions processed through the terminal, ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions will transfer the funds to the merchant’s bank on the following business day and the availability of the funds will be determined by the merchant’s bank. For transactions processed offline or via Paper Merchant Vouchers, these settlement times do not apply.
