  • What modalities (types of businesses) can use Private Health Claiming?

    The following businesses can use a Private Health Claiming:

    *General and nurse practitioners can use ANZ HealthPay for processing private health fund claims for overseas visitors and students.

    My ANZ HealthPay terminal is experiencing technical issues and I can't transact.

    If your ANZ HealthPay terminal is experiencing technical issues (such as a communication error or a frozen screen), try the following steps:

    1. Press <FUNC> 8, 6 <ENTER><ENTER>. Your ANZ HealthPay terminal will restart and return to the main screen
    2. Press <FUNC> 8, 7 <ENTER><ENTER>. Your ANZ HealthPay terminal should display ‘INITIALISATION APPROVED’
    3. Press <CLEAR> to go to Main Screen

    Your terminal should now be ready to process transactions.

    How do I process an EFTPOS transaction on my ANZ HealthPay terminal?

    To process an EFTPOS transaction:

    1. Start from the ‘ANZ HealthPay’ screen
    2. Key in purchase amount and press <ENTER>
    3. Key in cash out amount (where applicable) or press <ENTER> to continue
    4. Confirm total amount is correct and press <ENTER>
    5. Tap, insert or swipe card on ‘PRESENT CARD AMT’ screen
    6. If a contactless card or smartphone is presented, the customer should tap their contactless card or smartphone within 4cm of the machine screen and follow the prompts to complete the transaction
    7. An ‘APPROVED’ or ‘DECLINED’ message will be displayed on the machine
    8. For swipe or insert processing, select account type:
      • Press <—> for CHQ,
      • Press <▼> for SAV,
      • Press <▲> for CR
    9. Ask the customer to enter their PIN or press <ENTER> for the customer to sign the merchant copy if required
    10. Verify the customer’s signature with the signature on the reverse of the customer’s card. Once verified press <ENTER> on ‘SIGNATURE VERIFIED’ screen
    11. Press <ENTER> to print customer copy.

    How do I process an EFTPOS refund on my ANZ HealthPay terminal?

    To refund an EFTPOS transaction:

    1. Start from the ‘ANZ HealthPay’ screen
    2. Press <ENTER> until the ‘ANZ EFTPOS MENU’ screen appears
    3. Press the < > key to go to ‘REFUND’ and press <ENTER> or press the associated number to select it
    4. Swipe your ANZ EFTPOS and MultiPos merchant card (Terminal ID Card)
    5. Enter refund amount, then press <ENTER>
    6. Confirm the amount and then press <ENTER>
    7. Tap, insert or swipe your customer’s card on ‘PRESENT CARD RFND’ screen
    8. For swipe or insert processing, select account type:
      • Press <—> for CHQ,
      • Press <▼> for SAV,
      • Press <▲> for CR
    9. Have your customer enter their PIN if applicable, or press <ENTER> for the customer to sign the merchant copy if required
    10. Verify the customer’s signature with the signature on the reverse of the customer’s card. Once verified press <ENTER> on ‘SIGNATURE VERIFIED’ screen
    11. Press <ENTER> to print customer copy.

    How do I process a private health claim on my ANZ HealthPay terminal?

    To process a private health fund claim:

    1. Start from the ‘ANZ HealthPay’ screen
    2. Swipe the patient’s health fund card
    3. Enter the patient reference number then press <ENTER>
    4. If ANZ HealthPay displays the ‘PROVIDER OF SERVICES’ screen, select the servicing provider from the list by pressing the corresponding number key
    5. Select up to 16 service items from the list:
      • Find the service item – use the arrow keys to navigate to the item
      • Press the corresponding number key to select the item
      • Press <2> to edit the fee, enter the fee and press <ENTER>
      • Press <ENTER> to add the selected item to the claim
      • Either select <ADD> to add items, or press <ENTER> to make the claim with selected items
    6. To submit this health claim to the appropriate health fund, select <SUBMIT>
    7. Advise the patient of the health fund’s rebate and confirm they accept it
    8. To accept the rebate offered, select <ACCEPT>
      • Note: Ensure the patient signs the health fund assessment and verify the patient’s signature and write your initials on the assessment
    9. File and retain the patient-signed and verified assessment for 2 years
    10. If you have already received monies from the patient, enter that amount, then press <ENTER>, if not, leave the amount blank and press <ENTER>
    11. If there are monies owing, ANZ HealthPay asks for the ‘METHOD OF PAYMENT’, answer the question selecting <EFTPOS>, <CASH> or press <FUNC>, then select <INVOICE> and process accordingly
    12. If the receipt printed successfully, select <YES>, <DONE> and give the receipt to the patient.

    How do I process a Medicare claim on my ANZ healthPay terminal?

    To process a Medicare claim:

    1. Start from the ‘ANZ HealthPay’ screen
    2. Swipe the patient’s Medicare Card or enter the Card Number
    3. Enter the IRN and Press <ENTER>
      • Note: The IRN is the number listed near the patient’s name on the Medicare Card
    4. Select the Claim Type by pressing the corresponding number near the claim type
    5. Select the Service Provider
      • Note: To use a service provider that is not listed, select the <SEARCH> option and key in the provider number and press <ENTER>
    6. Your ANZ HealthPay terminal will display the claim data details, check that the information is correct and press <ENTER>
    7. Service item details will then be displayed, check that the information is correct and press <ENTER>
    8. Your ANZ HealthPay terminal will display the service items summary, to lodge additional items for this claim, select <ADD>. If there are no further items to be added, press <ENTER> to continue
    9. The terminal will connect to network and send the claim request for processing.

Footnote:

For ANZ business account holders, funds are available on the same day for online transactions, processed through the terminal and settled before 9pm (AEST). For non-ANZ business account holders, for online transactions processed through the terminal, ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions will transfer the funds to the merchant’s bank on the following business day and the availability of the funds will be determined by the merchant’s bank. For transactions processed offline or via Paper Merchant Vouchers, these settlement times do not apply.
